A Clinical Study of Mogadon for Insomnia


Abstract
The following results were obtained by a clinical study of "Mogadon" for insomina.
1. Five to ten mg of Mogadon were administered before retiring to bed for 10^30 days.
2. The diagnosis of 60 cases of insomnia patients(38 males, 22 females) were anxiety neurosis, depressive neurosis, conversion neurosis, schizophrenia and psychophysiologic disorders. The age range was 15^65.
3. The degree of drowsiness on waking were as follows: moderate ... one patient(1.7%). slight...4 (6.67%) none...49 (81.67%).
4. Less than 30 minutes were 40 (66.67%), 30^60 min were 14 (23.33%) and more than 60 min were 6 (10%) in the onset of sleep.
5. Duration of sleep were as follows: 4 hrs...9 (16%), 6 hrs...33 (55%), 8 hrs...18 (30%).
6. There were no disturbances of accomodation, calculating ability and postural balance or ataxia on awakening:
7. There was one disturbance of motor performance, but it has disappeared 3 days after medication.
8. There were one case of diarrhea and two cases of tremor but these symptoms have disappeared one week after medication.
9. "Mogadon" is a good therapeutic agent for insomnia by results of our clinical study.
